Szomorú szellemtörténeti tény, hogy e nagyszerű és igényes összeállítás magyar kiadása közel 30 évet váratott magára!
A kérdéskör jelentősége – sajnos – változatlan maradt. A világnak meg kell ismernie Erdély igaz történetét és azt a megszámlálhatatlan igazságtalanságot, ami az erdélyi magyarságot érte és éri Trianon óta.

“Besides giving a condensed and authentic survey of the geography, history and culture of Transylvania, we felt the necessity to pay special attention to the problems of national minorities, minority rights and other complex human factors to which we can no longer be indifferent, neither as a society of mankind, nor as a community of nations” – Wass Albert wrote in March 1977.
It is a sad fact of intellectual history, that the new publication of this great and elaborate work is almost thirty years late. Unfortunatelly the significance of this issue have not faded. The world has to know the true history of Transylvania and the huge injustice Hungarians in Transylvania have suffered since the Treaty of Trianon.
